It will grow to full height 3-4 metres in about 15 years but can also be cultivated into a dwarf version known as Shaina. WebEastwoods says, "This is a true dwarf that originated as a seedling. It is not easily manipulated so it is not recommended for bonsai. Tatoo is one of, if not the, slowest growing palmatum cultivars." I saw this cultivar at a local nursery last year. It was a 2 footer or better and was priced up there, so I didn't buy it, but I loved the look.
